When it comes to the Cosmos & Planets, it's easy to become fascinated! It's not even as complex as you may think. Yes it's extraordinarily mind blowing, but you don't need to know how the internet actually works to use it. The solar system is like a race track, the planets like the vehicles with a revolution around the sun being a lap around the track. When a faster vehicle passes you by, your vehicle physically feels the force of that exchange. This is what happens in our solar system, when the planets pass one another, we feel one another's energy and during that time, that planet seems to spin faster so the energy is amplified and this is what we call Retrograde.

​When this occurs, we will feel what that planet is made of and they feel what we are made of, for example Mercury is an iron planet and so anything iron related experiences this surge for better or worse. We like to think of these as the neighbourhoods that the planets ride their path through. They influence us just as we would be influenced driving through our home hood versus an unknown hood or a dodge one. We aren't our neighbourhoods, but each place has a different vibe for example, what is done in Rome is different to what is done in South Africa and we would adjust ourselves to suit the place we are travelling to. Knowing the hood energies gives us insight on what to prepare for and what to not waste time or energy on.

Planet energy during Retrogrades
Very important, especially in a breakdown or melt down situation in your life, to check this calendar and the below effects to see if it's not a universal energy you are experiencing as a collective on earth before you derail. Knowing when these planets are sending us energy is important so you can work with that energy, Make use of this section when a planet is retrograde, mark it in your diary to review in it's cycle to give yourself the best advantage and ride the cosmic wave like a pro surfer instead of allowing the wave to drown you.
Mercury
Disrupt in regular process with mistakes, misunderstandings, communication break downs, ego driven incidents, toxic leaks so use the time to redirect with new plans by doing research and preparing for this regular cycle. Moving retrograde occurs four times throughout the year, with each retrograde period lasting a few weeks at a time.

Venus
The old is invited in to be completed or resumed by paths crossing for better or worse this time will highlight money, connections and love that create a change in your heart by the time it goes direct, so be extra cautious of investing time, love, energy or finances into anything until you’ve concluded cycle. Venus only moves retrograde once every 18 months, although it lasts for about six weeks, give or take.

Mars
Action becomes aggressive or difficult forcing your to travel within to encourage you to finish what is incomplete, tie up loose ends, renovate your soul and environment. Pushing forward in this cycle will cost you a lot of energy with war energy, better to retreat for now to repair your weaknesses and revise your future with fresh plans. Retrograde occurs about every two years, lasting for a period of a couple months.

Uranus
Inner freedom is the focus under this planet and it used awakenings to accomplish this, so don’t be surprised if you are jolted awake. Resistance will most likely just hurt you because there is no avoiding it. Breakthroughs and insights are especially common and more frequent so it will effect moods and pains in your neck and head and you should be questioning your behaviour, psychology and behaviours to cultivate yourself to grow them in healthier ways. Although it technically starts a new retrograde period annually, Uranus retrograde periods can occur twice in the same year because of how long they last (about five months)

Saturn
Relationships of all kinds, career, long term goals, responsibilities, duties, fears and dreams are all under a microscope in this cycle. What is rotten will be rubbed in your nose and what has grown healthy roots will show signs of greatness. Use this energy to restructure as well as manifest the reality you deserve. This will be the time to accept and adapt to new attitudes to future proof your life as this will help you to navigate inevitable obstacles well. Retrograde occurs annually, for a period of a little over four months.

Jupiter
A big light shines on your visions, ideals, and belief systems in life for better or worse. Whatever you have been working with true passion and purpose will be rewarded and the things you have been neglecting will be taken or thrown into chaos to be dealt with. Moving retrograde once a year, Jupiter's slow period lasts for about four months, or 120 days.

Neptune
What you think, feel and experience spirituality will be extra sensitive in this cycle. Inner tranquillity, and vision become the focus for peace, harmony and balance to be restored in your life, so it will disrupt the status quo if anything is abusive, toxic or not making sense so you can restore yourself into your highest good. Moves retrograde about once a year, with its slow period spanning a little more than five months.

Pluto
We are here to evolve, so reflection is vital in this cycle and if not chosen then the change and transformation will be forced on you through pain, extremes, the unseen and Mother Nature to incite analysis to embrace, understand, heal and then master our shadow sides for the highest good of all. Retrograde can last between five and six months and comes around once a year.​
